Make a Color Changing Cocktail

Make a Color Changing Cocktail

What a treat, what a dream! These pretty drinks are perfect for a gender reveal or a Disney-themed shower. They are very easy to make, delicious, and very pretty. These are like a little science experiment in a champagne flute. They start pink and turn blue with the right ingredient. So if you have a Disney shower, think Aurora’s color-changing dress. If you are having a gender reveal, guests can decide if they want to have a pink or blue drink to place their vote for the baby’s gender. If it’s a Tuesday, just enjoy your cocktail, ha!

These are champagne margarita cocktails. I love margaritas. They are my drink of choice. Usually, I stick with the classic margarita, but will always welcome a nice alternative. Now the big debate with margaritas is frozen or on the rocks? With this recipe, you have to go on the rocks. Blending champagne could be risky business.

To make a pink champagne margarita, you will need:
-1 cup champagne
-2 cups pink lemonade (I used Minute Maid)
-1/2 cup tequila (I used Partida Tequila, my favorite!)
-1/2 cup triple sec
-Lime juice
-Sugar for the rims
-Pink and blue cotton candy. You can buy this brand at Kroger or on Amazon.

To make the margaritas:
-Combine the champagne, pink lemonade, tequila and triple sec in a pitcher.
-Stir very well. You don’t want all of the alcohol to be in one person’s drink.
-Coat the rims of your champagne glasses with lime juice.
-Dip the champagne glass rims in sugar.
-Place a pinch of cotton candy on the edge of the glass for your guest to either eat (to keep pink) or drop (to turn blue)!

Bottoms up! Cheers friends.
