The Best Queso in Atlanta

The Best Queso in Atlanta

What? I’m writing about Mexican food again?? Well, yes, yes I am. Stephen likes to joke that my diet is 70 percent queso, which is only partially true. I think maybe 70 percent Diet Coke and maybe 30 percent queso. Either way, I love queso. So I’ve put together a list of my favorite queso in Atlanta. No matter if you are a local looking for a new spot or a visitor who just loves queso, this list is for you!

Tijuana Garage

I’ve writted about Tijuana Garage before. It’s really one of my favorite spots in the city for queso, margaritas and tacos. This queso is so thick and delicious I really could just drink it directly out of the bowl.

La Fonda

Another deliciously thick queso, La Fonda is owned by the same owners as Fellini’s and really is amazing. I also highly recommend the shrimp quesadilla if you are venturing to La Fonda.

Taqueria Del Sol

I LOVE Taqueria Del Sol! There are several locations in Atlanta, Decatur and even Athens. Their queso is just plain delicious. If you are venturing to Taqueria Del Sol, pair your queso with the Memphis or Fried Chicken taco.

Raging Burrito

Ok for starters, Raging Burrito has the biggest burritos I’ve EVER seen! You originally will think you can’t finish it, but after having a few bites you will realize it’s delicious and it’s a crime not to finish. There tagline is “We Roll Fatties” which is hilarious, but also true. These burritos are fat. Since the burritos are this good, you just assume the queso will be too and you would definitely be correct. So Amazing. They also have killer salsa if you like to dip your chip in both before you eat it.

Original El Taco

The Original El Taco has several options for your queso needs including: queso blanco, queso royale, and queso royale trio. I’m usually a strictly plain queso girl, but really you can’t go wrong here. Located in Virginia Highlands, this tasty treat can’t be beat. If you’re looking for queso in Atlanta, it’s worth the stop!

Do you love queso as much as I do? What is your favorite spot for queso in your city?
