My name is Helen and I do not wake up early. I thought after a year of living in the working world, I would have an easier time dragging my lifeless body out of bed and getting to work. I plan my mornings so I can have the maximum amount of sleep, which means sometimes I end up looking slightly askew. So here are my favorite work hairstyles that take under 10 – 20 minutes and can still make you look slightly polished.
#1 The Messy Bun
This one is for the days when you really can’t pull it together. It’s so simple and there are so many variations of the messy bun. I do either a loose ballet bun or I don’t pull the hair all the way through the pony tail and then wrap the ends through the holder. It always looks the most polished if you straighten the top, but that still only takes a few extra minutes.
#2 The Low Ponytail
I wear this one almost every day. I’m actually wearing it today. Granted, I don’t wear the outfit pictured above to work (I had just got home from the gym) but this is my every day hair style. It looks fine whether your hair is straightened or not. I’ll be honest, it looks better if you straighten your hair, but if you are like me and can’t pull it together the low pony tail works both ways. Just remember to keep it low for professional points.
#3 The Side Braid
The side braid is super easy and the hat is optional. (We have to wear safari wear sometimes for an assembly we do at work) The side braid is another quicky last stitch effort to look like you put effort into getting ready today. The trick is to straighten the top of your hair that will be seen and the tail pieces. The middle doesn’t matter at all. Just pull your hair to one side, braid about 3/4 of the way down, tie it off, and straighten the bottom. Done!
#4 The Long and Straight
This is a classic. Just straighten your hair in the morning. It will take a little longer than the previous hairstyles, but it’s a simple go to. If you already have straight hair, then you are blessed and could probably just blow dry your hair and have no problems. For those of us who don’t, you will have to straighten out the kinks. If you want an extra polished look curl the bottoms under just a little to give a little bounce.
#5 Curls, Curls, Curls
I only wear this one for events. It takes too long to accomplish in the morning, but it could still be done if you allot a little extra time. It takes about 20 minutes to pull this one off and is not hard. You just straighten your hair like you normally would, but when you get 1/3 of the way down, start curling it under. It gives you loose waves for a pretty evening look.
