I love living in Atlanta. It is such a cool city with so many places to visit and things to see. It seems like every day there is something cool going on somewhere inside the perimeter. We have brunch festivals and music festivals and food truck festivals and mimosa 5Ks. I mean the list goes on and on.
I could talk forever about some of my favorite events in Atlanta, but I’m going to focus this post on 5 events I haven’t been to yet but am definitely not missing in 2016. Most of them revolve around food and alcohol so don’t judge me too harshly. Or do. Eating and drinking are two of my favorite activities so I can’t really apologize for that…
Atlanta Taco Festival – May 1, 2016
The inaugural Atlanta Taco Festival is happening this Sunday and is a six-hour taco competition and celebration! If it sounds like heaven, that’s because it is. The festival will also feature salsa dancing, live local bands, and Lucha Libre Wrestling.
In a perfect world, Margarita Wars would happen at the same time as the Atlanta Taco Festival…but sadly screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place. However, Margarita Wars sounds like the perfect event! 10 Margarita makers will compete to become Atlanta’s Favorite Margarita and the only way to figure that out is to drink them all and vote. So…I won’t be missing this one.
Brew at the Zoo – May 28, 2016
At this event you walk around and drink beer and wine whilst looking at animals. I mean it doesn’t get any cooler than that…
Atlanta Moon Ride – June 10, 2016
This year will be the fourth Atlanta Moon Ride, and I’ve never been but always hear so much about it. Basically, you dress up in really bright colors and ride around on your bike through the fun neighborhoods in Atlanta. It’s kind of like a rolling party.
Atlanta Mac and Cheese Festival – October 8, 2016
We don’t know a lot about this event yet…except that it is happening and we get to eat a lot of Mac and Cheese. It will be the first one so I will choose to ignore that this event takes place two weeks before my wedding and I will be in major diet mode by this point. I can’t miss this. It’s a whole festival devoted to my favorite food…
