I live alone. I have a lovely little apartment that is all mine. You can read my post on things I have actually said while living alone here.
Living alone is kind of like living in the wilderness for long periods of time. I’ve had to acquire lots of new skills and trades to survive. So basically, I’ve become Annie Oakley.
Bear with me…
–I have to hunt for my food. I have to make a list, trek to the store, scope out my prey, fight my way through the senior citizens, lurch for my target, and successfully grab it and throw it in the buggy. Hard work. I’m telling you.
–I survive animal attacks. Granted they’re by a 10 pound tabby named Mimosa that is just having her afternoon sprint around the apartment. When she is wound up though she can be vicious.
–I kill animals with weapons. Annie used a gun, I use my stilettos. Man, have I gotten good at killing spiders with one smack. Boom, head shot.
–I created a filtering system for my water. I had to work really hard to acquire that Brita.
–I can make fire. It’s in my fireplace, and all I have to do is turn the little key, but I can do it!
See we’re totally the same. I’m like a total wilderness girl.
What skills did you learn while living alone?
