The boyfriend came to visit for the weekend! By the way, the boyfriend’s name is Stephen. I’m not sure if I’ve ever formally introduced the man behind the blog…I’m pretty sure I have just affectionately called him “The Boyfriend.” He’s the best. We met in college, but then I graduated and moved two hours away, so it’s always a great weekend when we actually get to be together. I love him a whole bunch. He’s made several cameos throughout the blog, but here he is officially. Isn’t he cute?? (I used this pic stitch on Instagram for his birthday last week…seemed appropriate to use it again)
So yes, it’s always great when we get to be together, but I usually have some form of a project when he comes to visit me in my apartment. One time we turned an old 90’s entertainment center into a bar. One time we built a movie pit couch. If I don’t cut this out, he is going to stop visiting me…
Now in my new apartment, I have a sweet little sun nook. (It’s too tiny to be called a sun room.) I moved into my new apartment in September, and every day since I have been talking about how I’m going to make it a home office for blogging, work I don’t finish at my actual office, etc. but I never got around to converting it. So instead it was affectionately known as “the island of misfit toys” because I was storing everything I didn’t know what to do with in this nook.
I had both Stephen and my brother visiting this weekend, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to quit talking about it and actually doing it. They were both super helpful.
So here is the finished product!
I’m so obsessed. I’m never leaving my little nook. Usually the blinds are open and it’s just a big ray of sunshine in here, but it’s night time so I decided to close them so my neighbors don’t have a direct view of my jam sesh to Uptown Funk.
Most of my items came from Target. If you’re new to the blog, I buy everything from Target… The desk, chair, wiener dog tape dispenser (that I just HAD to have), white/bulletin board, and pen cup all came from Target. The pen cup was originally white, but I painted it with my Martha Stewart favorite gold paint.
I bought the flowers from Kroger. I made the little arrangement on the right because I had too many flowers in my dining room table arrangement. You can never have too many flowers. The orchid came from Kroger too. They have a gorgeous orchid selection at Kroger. Go check it out.
The other items were things I already had. The blessings jar, I have actually talked about before. The gold runner came from my Nana. I love that part. I just feel like it’s the perfect touch. Finally, my desk wouldn’t be complete without my Erin. If you haven’t heard of Erin Condren, go check out her life planners immediately.
